We've been seeing this all over instragram however it has never really tempted us into getting one. We finally cave in because of a discount code. No harm trying out a perrobox for $19.90 right?
Before checking out, you get to personalise it! I like how we can fill in our preferences, that way it minimises the chance of getting something you wouldn't give to your dog. As for J, we got her the medium-dog box.
In 3 days time, we got our box! Despite delivering on the 1st of June, we got our hands on the May box, themed English. The box consists of 1 toy, 2 treats, 1 chew and 1 accessory. For the price we paid, seems like a worthwhile purchase considering the savings involved ($31.75).
So what do we think of the items? (Check out our instagram for a video on it!)
Out of the whole box, J's favourite is the Shabby Chic toy. Bunny with floral ears? Yes pls! It squeaks. It crinkles. It has a soft rubber chew ring in the middle. Why haven't I seen this in the pet stores? It made me real happy when J got this in her box (THANKS PERROBOX!). Other than the toy, I was happy to see the Zee Dog Bow Tie. It was red with sprinkles. Either they could read my mind or they have good taste. Why so? (1) J looks great in red (2) It's a design I've been looking out for. Can't wait to try it out on her! Fingers cross it wouldn't look too big on her. Lastly, something that seems interesting to try would be the Fruitables in Pumpkin and blueberry flavour. It does sound yummy and only 8 calories per treat I think it's good for dogs like J (food-driven). Onto the...
The 2 items we weren't that keen on were the Perrobites and Addiction meaty treats. The perrobite description was so vague, we weren't comfortable feeding it to her. As for the addiction meaty bites, it'll be the first time trying that brand. Looking at the product, we might give it a miss.
Overall, the Perrobox was worth trying out! We still like having the choice of picking something out from a pet store. However when you are in for a surprise, the Perrobox might actually be a good choice! Weliveinaflat reviewed them once in 2015 and it seems like they have improved over the years.
Till our next perrobox, ciao!
The team at Perrobox is very on the ball and prompt at follow-ups. Turns out that despite just paying for 1 box, it is an auto renewal. That means, you have to cancel your subscription just so they won't charge you for the next box. Just keep that in mind, if you're like me - experimenting.
Event of the year - No pawrent would miss!
My first visit to Pet Expo was almost 7 years back, for a talk by a rabbit-savvy vet on bunny care. 7 years is a long while and Pet Expo sure has up their game! This year Pet Expo 2017 screamed "deals" to me. And yup, I headed there for 1 main purpose. SHOPPING! When it comes to shopping, here are our 2-cents-worth tips!
#1 : Furkid stays home...
At least on one of the days. The first time I brought J to an event, I have to admit that shopping with her was tiresome. I was preoccupied with her exploring and meeting new friends, I didn't get to check out the items I wanted. Sounds like I'm a terrible multi-tasker, aint it. What I really like about Pet Expo, is that it is spread out into 3 days. So if you are really keen on brining your pup down and shop, you can do it on separate days! That's the whole point of a 3-day ticket, isn't it? *wink*
#2 : Go with a extra pair of hands
Upon entering, what shocked me was the snake-line of people waiting to pay for their purchases! I spent roughly over 15 minutes waiting in line just to make payment at each booth. So to save on time, go with someone who's willing to wait in line while you shop.
#3: Shop with your pack
Yup, you didn't read wrong. Shop in a pack, like you're at Costco! Why so? Most of the brands are subjected to bulk discount. Biggest distributor in Singapore, B2K had deals like - Buy 2 get 1 free, Buy 5 get 3 free, Buy 10 get 7 free. Hop over to Howlistic life, promotions were really flexible like Buy 2nd time at 50% off or Get your 3rd item at just $1. Even J's kibble - Taste of the Wild, was having promos like - 2x 2.25kg for $55 or 2x 13kg for $250 and throwing in a free toy or treat. Making it a 1-for-1 deal. If you don't have a pack, guess stocking up for 'winter' seems like a good excuse to splurge on these deals.
Now that you have these tips, you are ready to tackle Pet Expo this weekend! As J just got spayed (talk about timing) she'll be giving this year's Pet Expo a miss. Thus, we had to bring Pet Expo to her.
This pup now has enough toys and treats to last her till 'winter'... or at least till she turns one. With the product range and promotions going on at Pet Expo, I've got a strong feeling this is gonna be a yearly thing for us.
